I Can't Help But Smile

Who would disagree that this last week has been extremely satisfying for D-Backs fans? I mean we got to watch the D-Backs sweep the Rockies in what can only be described as mucho payback for the NLCS. Then we took that momentum and brought a hurtin' to the Dodgers. If that wasn't enough, we have decided to keep it up and beat down the Rockies yet again. I mean it's almost not fair. Wait a second....it's completely fair and I'm loving every minute of it! I wish I could have seen today's game but from what I could see on gameday, we punished the Rockies 10-3, with Haren pitching a gem and Upton putting the nail in the Rockies coffin with a 3 run blast.

Besides me having joy-joy thoughts and dancing on a cloud from this fabulous week of good baseball, I have to ask a few important questions. Why is Chris Burke on the team? Why isn't Trot Nixon? I know Trot isn't the same player that he once was, but I think he would be able to benefit this team a lot better than Chris Burke has. His pinch hitting has been poor and when he has started, he's been dissapointing. I know I know it's only been 11 games and he's a rookie. But Trot Nixon and his presence in the clubhouse would be valuable. Plus I guarantee he would serve the team better as a pinch-hitter and still be happy getting spot starts. They should let Burke go to Tucson and refine his skills a little better. Am I wrong here? Am I over-reacting and not giving the kid a full chance? Does Baxter the Bobcat truly disturb anyone else but me?
